PTC of VT offers TD Hoops Edge!

WHAT IS IT? TD HOOPS EDGE was founded to help high performance athletes increase their competitive edge over the competition through strength and conditioning drills in the pool. The TDHE Aquatic Training Program takes basketball and sport specific training into the water. Athletes perform drills in the pool that enhance their footwork, shooting, and ball handling skills accompanied by training for speed, agility, and strength to help athletes become more well-rounded players.

TD HOOPS EDGE provides top level training for high-level athletes. The program allows players to transfer their on-court intensity into the dynamic properties of water. In the pool, players perform basketball-specific activities with minimal impact yet consistent resistance. While in the water, athletes perform the same explosive movements that (s)he would face in a game situation. By replicating game situations in the water, athletes are participating in strength training and conditioning activities while having fun. Using the TD HOOPS EDGE aquatic training Program, each participant will gain the skills needed to reach the next level.

BENEFITS OF AQUATIC TRAINING

• The aquatic approach compliments land based training with high intensity exercise without the issues related to chronic overuse injuries, exacerbation of existing injuries or post exercise soreness.
• Physiological changes to the body occur in the water that intensifies the strengthening to the cardiovascular (increased cardiac output) and respiratory systems with similar effort when performed on land.
• Aquatic exercise enhances balanced muscle training and enhances core stabilization.
• Resistance to movement is variable and allows for everyone to participate at their highest level.

These programs are currently available for individual athletes and for teams/ groups at two locations of the Sports and Fitness Edge Health Clubs in Essex Junction (SFEDGE-Essex @ 4 Gauthier Drive) and in South Burlington (@ 75 Eastwood Drive).
