One of the Physical Therapy Center of Vermont’s many specialties is Sports Medicine. This is a branch of physical therapy that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of ailments of the musculoskeletal system (pertaining to muscles and bones). We specialize in pre and post surgical rehabilitation, performance enhancement, injury prevention and specific therapy to prepare for return to sports. We work closely with orthopaedic surgeons, progressing patients through specific protocol exercises developed by the surgeon, dependent on the surgical intervention and desired outcome. We remain in close contact with physicians, keeping them updated on progress throughout the patient’s rehab. We then discharge patients with all the information and exercises to continue their progress at home or offer rehabilitation memberships to continue strength and agility training on-site in all our club locations.
